Texas A&M football is bringing a familiar look to Columbia this weekend, hoping its traditional colors accompany a much-needed statement victory in Southeastern Conference play.

The Aggies revealed Thursday that they'll wear maroon helmets, white jerseys and white pants against No. 14 Missouri in Saturday's nationally televised matchup at Memorial Stadium.

The announcement came through a video game-inspired social media presentation featuring sophomore defensive lineman Landon Rink, giving fans an early glimpse of the uniform combination Texas A&M will showcase against the Tigers.

But while the uniform reveal generated excitement, the bigger story involves an Aggies team trying to regain its footing in the SEC championship race.

Texas A&M enters Saturday at 3-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play following an impressive 34-7 victory over Arkansas.

The Aggies rushed for 231 yards and four touchdowns against the Razorbacks, delivering the kind of physical offensive performance head coach Mike Elko has been demanding.

Quarterback Marcel Reed also showed improvement, completing 13 of 19 passes for 170 yards while contributing 66 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Following the victory, Elko praised his team's response to consecutive losses against Kentucky and LSU.

"Proud of the response," Elko said. "Challenged the guys to come out and play physical and control the line of scrimmage."

That physicality will be essential Saturday.

Missouri enters at 4-1 after dismantling previously eighth-ranked Florida 45-17, a performance that sent a warning throughout the SEC.

Quarterback Austin Simmons shredded the Gators for 340 passing yards and two touchdowns, while the Tigers accumulated 560 yards of total offense.

For Texas A&M, controlling the running game and protecting Reed won't be enough. The Aggies must also generate pressure on Simmons and prevent Missouri's explosive offense from dictating the tempo.

The Aggies have some encouraging history on their side.

Texas A&M defeated Missouri 38-17 in Columbia last season and owns an 11-7 advantage in the all-time series.

Saturday's matchup presents another opportunity to make a statement.

And this time, the Aggies will be dressed in maroon and white for the occasion.

Kickoff is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. CT on ABC.
