Texas A&M's 2028 recruiting class is expected to grow in the coming months, and while the 2026 season, which is already halfway finished, is the focus for third-year coach Mike Elko and his staff, securing all 26 commitments in the No. 1-ranked 2027 class, combined with winning recruiting battles in the 2028 cycle, remains the co-focus.

This week, it reported that the Aggies are close to adding their third commitment in the 2028 cycle, as four-star wide receiver Kyrin Armelin is coming off a successful visit to College Station and received a prediction from Rivals insider Steve Wiltfong to land with the Aggies later this year.

Texas A&M is also in the running for another 2028 priority prospect, four-star offensive tackle Wyatt Wagner, who is currently projected to land with LSU, given a 65% chance per Rivals and Wiltfong's intel. However, Wiltfong said SMU, Florida, and the Aggies are also in the mix for the blue-chip OL, who took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M during the Aggies' season-opening 50-0 win over Missouri State.

"Programs across the SEC covet four-star Midlothian (Texas) Heritage OT Wyatt Wagner. LSU is out in front for the Rivals300 offensive line prospect — and a visit to Baton Rouge is currently in the works. Texas A&M and Florida are keeping pace with the Tigers for Wagner into his junior season. Wagner has also logged visits to SMU and TCU so far this season."

Standing 6'8" and 270 pounds, Wagner can operate at left or right tackle, and under Texas A&M offensive line coach Adam Cushing, development hasn't been an issue, especially after seeing four 2025 starters selected in the 2026 NFL Draft. Right now, Texas A&M holds two commits in the 2028 class: five-star quarterback Donald Tabron and four-star Edge Chacne Archangel.
