Texas A&M football head coach Mike Elko made hilarious comments at Monday's press conference about his retirement plan and how social media and outside noise affect collegiate programs.
The Aggies are coming off a 34-7 win over Arkansas on Saturday, bouncing back from back-to-back SEC losses to Kentucky and LSU. Texas A&M held the Razorbacks to just 214 total yards, the second-lowest amount allowed to a Power Five team under Coach Elko.
Before his team hits the road to face No. 14 Missouri, Elko spoke to the media on the challenges of blocking out the noise in this era of college football and how the Aggies felt returning to the win column.

The funniest quote from the clip, provided by Cartel Karles of On3 Sports, is what he told his players about his retirement plan.
"What I'm going to do is, I'm going to go debate all the talking heads in college football, just to really make it clear to everybody who knows things about football and who doesn't," Elko said.
His comments are not aimed at any media members in particular; he is simply making light of the current era of college sports. Everyone has an opinion about a team's performance, how coaches are doing, the transfer portal and so on.
Elko's point was that he won't allow his team to succumb to the media's stance on their trajectory and what they are doing on the field. His job as Texas A&M's head coach is to have his players and coaching staff ready to perform at the highest level for their school.
They will have an opportunity to keep this momentum rolling in Week 6, as they travel to Columbia to face head coach Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers.
