Texas A&M's 35-6 road loss to LSU was likely the breaking point for third-year coach Mike Elko and his roster, as the Aggies now sit at 2-2 and 0-2 in SEC play and look like one of the worst teams in the conference. After defeating Missouri State 50-0 and Arizona State 48-20, a 31-21 loss to unranked Kentucky was just the start of an embarrassing slide.

How this happened can't be explained just four games into the season, but everything points to starting quarterback Marcel Reed's lack of development, which has been somewhat startling after the redshirt junior threw for a career-high 3,169 yards and 25 touchdowns last season. However, that was under current Kansas State coach Collin Klein, who served as A&M's offensive coordinator last season.

Around the rest of the SEC, No. 1 Texas escaped Neyland Stadium with a 20-17 road win over Tennessee, while Georgia looks like the most complete team in the country after blowing out Oklahoma 41-17 at home. Texas A&M doesn't look like a College Football Playoff contender and has no chance to make the tournament unless they somehow finish undefeated.

Nationally, Texas A&M dropped out of the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 rankings, and in the latest US TODAY College Football Re-Rank, the Aggies dropped 16 more spots to No. 47, below the likes of Baylor, Washington, and Minnesota.

Texas A&M will host Arkansas on Saturday night, and after watching their alma mater lose back-to-back SEC games by double digits, the Aggie fan base deserves to see this team play a complete game for the first time this season. Entering the weekend as a 14-point favorite, the Aggies need to look like a competent football team.
