The Tennessee Vols will wear a uniform combination on Saturday night against Georgia Tech that some might be surprised by, while many will be pleased with.
Tennessee announced on Thursday morning that they’ll be wearing their popular all white “stormtrooper” uniforms against the Yellow Jackets.
It will be the first time that we get to see Tennessee in their new Adidas road uniforms, so it will certainly be interesting in that sense as well.
For those wondering, why does this matter so much? Well, Georgia Tech is one program known for wearing white jerseys at home often, which puts visitors in their solid home colors on the road. That had appeared to be the case earlier in the week, when Tech put out a graphic that showed them in white.
And after all, that’s what the Yellow Jackets donned last week at home against Colorado, so it stood to reason Tennessee was going to have to wait until October before we saw their white road uniforms in action.
Well, now we’ll get to see Tennessee in full road regalia on Saturday night in Bobby Dodd Stadium as the Vols look to pick up a big win in what some had labeled a swing game for their season.
Kickoff from Atlanta is set for shortly after 7:00 pm ET on ESPN.
