Tennessee football fans might get lucky with the weather on game day.

The forecast for Saturday is more favorable in the afternoon now, which is when the No. 17 Vols (3-1, 0-1 SEC) are slated to play Auburn (3-1, 1-1) on Oct. 3 (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Neyland Stadium.

A steady rain is predicted to begin in the early hours of Oct. 3 and continue throughout the day. There's between a 41% and 66% chance of rain between 3 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to weather.com, and about half an inch of rain is expected. But at 3 p.m., the chance of precipitation drops off. For the rest of the day, there isn't higher than a 24% chance of rain.

If it ends up raining during the game, it'll be the Vols' first time playing with wet conditions this season, which will be another obstacle for the Vols' passing game, which is still finding its rhythm with freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon.

Tennessee is only averaging 196.5 passing yards through four games, which ranks No. 106 in the nation. The Vols also only rushed for 70 yards on 44 carries last week, and they'll need their running game back on track if there are wet conditions.
