Tennessee began its season with a 109-62 victory over Duquesne at Food City Center, scoring at least 21 points in every quarter.
Kaylene Smikle scored 31 points on 11-of-13 shooting, including five made three-pointers. Five other Lady Vols reached double figures, and Fats Janneh collected a game-high 10 rebounds.
The 109-point total was Tennessee's best in a season opener since 1989. The Lady Vols next travel to Coppin State for a Thursday matchup.
