TCU returned from Costa Rica with two exhibition wins and a clearer first look at a reshaped roster. The Horned Frogs beat the University of Ottawa 93–66 on August 1, then closed the trip with a 99–70 win the following night in San Jose.
Gavin Sykes led TCU with 20 points in both games. In the finale, Tanner Toolson added 18, Trent Lincoln scored 13, and Luke Bamgboye, Micah Robinson and DJ Thomas each finished with 11. TCU also held a 42–20 rebounding advantage and committed nine turnovers.
The tour was an evaluation window, not a regular-season verdict. Still, six double-figure scorers and a different starting lineup in the second game gave the Frogs useful evidence about their depth before the November 2 opener against Lindenwood.
