Jamel Johnson has been named to the 35-player preseason watch list for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award. He is one of three Big 12 defensive backs included.
Johnson started every game for TCU in 2025, finishing with 96 tackles and five interceptions. His interception total tied for the conference lead and established him as a central piece of the Horned Frogs' secondary.
