For the first ten minutes of the game, Kentucky basketball did not look good. Shots weren't falling, they were turning the ball over, and they trailed Texas Tech by seven points. Then the defense keyed a Wildcats run, and they quickly went ahead by eight, and never trailed again on the way to a 76-65 victory.

It was an exhibition game, so it doesn't count, but it gave Big Blue Nation something to celebrate. Both teams has moments of great play, and some moments that weren't so good. Both teams were also short-handed. Kentucky was missing Kam Williams, Then Noah, and Jerone Morton, all of whom figured into their rotation.

Overall, the shooting wasn't great, especially from three-point range. They made just 7-of-24 from deep, though there were a few big ones made at big moments. Rebounding was also an issue throughout the game.

There was plenty of good and bad for Coach Pope and his staff to work on. Some players excelled, and some struggled. Here's whose stock is up this week, and whose is down.

Stock up: Young guards

In the second half, as Texas Tech made a run to get back into the game, both Alex Wilkins and Mason Williams knocked down some huge shots. Wilkins hit two big three-pointers and played terrific defense, while Willliams hit a three, and an athletic shot in the lane. The future definitely looks bright.

Stock down: Zoom Diallo

After a solid first game last week, Diallo couldn't find his footing against the Red Raiders. He did have 7 points on 3-of-5 shooting, but he turned the ball over 3 times, and the Wildcats were -7 when he was on the floor.

Stock up: Ousmane N'Diaye

N'Diaye didn't shoot the ball particularly well, and was just 1-of-7 from three-point range. However, he never lost confidence, and continued to take open shots. He ended up with 10 points and 7 rebounds along with a nice blocked shot. His upside is showing up more and more.

Stock down: The frontcourt

Kentucky has a lot of length on the team, and in the starting lineup. However, they consistently got out-worked for rebounds, something Kentucky has struggled with throughout Pope's tenure. Malachi Moreno has ideal size for a center, but doesn't always play like it. He, in particular, has to work harder on the boards.

Stock up: Malachi Moreno's offense

While he didn't rebound well, Moreno was a major contributor on the offensive end. He used his strength to back down defenders and get easy looks, and ended up with 15 points, which tied for the team lead. He also made 3 of his 4 free throw attempts.
