With the unranked South Carolina football team looking to build off the upset against No. 11 Tennessee last weekend, 27-24, they have a pivotal contest against the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday. As South Carolina football quarterback LaNorris Sellers led the team in the Tennessee game, he has already had a few impressive plays that are sure to impress anybody watching.
While the Gamecocks wanted to extend their 14-7 lead over the Sooners, Sellers made a highlight play on third-and-12, where he climbed up in the pocket and delivered a strike to DJ Black for an 84-yard touchdown.
“LaNorris Sellers with a rocket to score the 84-yard TD,” ESPN wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

South Carolina football’s LaNorris Sellers is a hard player to bring down
In the first half for Sellers, he threw for 179 yards with two touchdowns and one interception to go along with 79 yards and a score for the Gamecocks, as the 14-yard rushing touchdown was another highlight, as defenders had a hard time bringing him down.

One person who emphasized Sellers being a hard player to bring down was former Sooners linebacker Teddy Lehman, saying on “The Oklahoma Breakdown with Ikard and Lehman” that “you cannot leave your feet when you tackle him.”
“A lot of times, whenever you tackle someone right at the point of contact, there’s a little bit of- it’s not a dive, but you kind of do leave your feet to some degree, right? Unless you’re like head-on with someone and you got a good base under you and you’re running your feet, but like when you’re chasing someone down, or there’s a little bit of an angle, there’s a little bit of a lunge. And if you do that against LaNorris Sellers, you will not tackle him. He will bounce and give ground, and you’ll go to the ground,” Lehman said.
The South Carolina football team looks to win their third straight game against the Sooners Saturday, as Sellers has led them to a good start in the first half, with the junior quarterback looking to build his NFL Draft stock for the next season.
