Happy Sunday Husky fans. With a bye week coming up after a good win over Purdue, the Husky coaches will hit the road this weekend to do some recruiting (primarily 2028 recruiting but also looking at some of their top 2028 targets). There isn’t a ton of new information to report with the 2027 class still intact despite the rough 3 game stretch for the Huskies. Unless there is a massive shakeup on staff I wouldn’t anticipate a ton of movement in the class, as most of the commits sound like they are 100% locked in.

I did want to share a couple of updates though on the recruiting front. 3 star offensive line commit Reis Russell from Valor Christian HS, CO has had an outstanding season for his team so far. Russell has shown his versatility during his senior season by kicking out to tackle and dominating so far. Husky coaches are expecting him to remain inside and play center for them, but he should have the versatility to be able to play a guard position if needed in college. When I see his film I see a tenacious blocker who should add some nastiness to the Husky offensive line in the coming years (IMHO they need this).

In the 2028 class the Huskies extended an offer out to 4 star defensive lineman RJ Wyms from the Woodlands College Park HS, in Texas. Wyms, who is currently rated as the 36th best player in the country, and 4th best defensive lineman is an explosive defensive lineman who should lineup as a 5T in college. Most of the top programs in the country are after him and it will be tough for the Huskies to reel in a top defensive lineman from Texas, however they are still active in the state and are looking to grab as much talent as they can from the state of Texas.

That is all for today and as we get information about where Husky coaches travelled over the weekend we will make sure to share that information here. As always follow me @asieverkropp.
