While Tennessee football’s current quarterback room looks bleak, the future of it shone on Friday night.

Kaden Craft has his North Carolina high school squad rolling with a six-touchdown game with dual-threat ability. His future tailbacks also showed out on the gridiron.

Here’s a look at how future Vols performed on the gridiron Friday night.

Five-star running back David Gabriel Georges (2027)

Baylor School (Tenn.) was on a bye week on Friday, so Gabriel Georges didn’t add any more highlights to his reel.

But he did shine the last time on the field in a rivalry setting. Baylor-McCallie week came on Oct. 2. Gabriel Georges rushed 11 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns. He added two catches for 50 yards and a score in the passing game. All three touchdowns came in the first half.

Gabriel Georges had a 90-yard touchdown run called back by a holding penalty, too. It’s become a weekly occurrence to have at least one score wiped off the board.

Gabriel Georges has 961 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns, adding another 203 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns while leading Baylor to a 7-0 record before the bye week.

Four-star quarterback Kaden Craft (2028)

Tennessee’s future signal-caller knows how to find the win column. He’s doing it more convincingly each week.

Craft led Lake Norman (N.C.) to a 60-0 win on Friday night, totaling six touchdowns against South Iredell. He went 15-of-19 for 241 yards and three touchdowns through the air and added another 71 yards and a trio of scores on the ground.

Craft was not perfect, though. He tossed an interception, the second week in a row he’s done so.

Lake Norman is 7-0 on the season and has played just one game this season with the margin closer than three scores. Craft has completed 69.8% of his passes for 1,525 yards and 16 scores this season. He’s rushed for another 287 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Three-star running back Asa Barnes (2027)

Gabriel Georges’ workload could remain light when he makes it to campus in December. He’ll have a counterpart who’s putting together an impressive senior campaign across the state.

Westview (Tenn.) running back Asa Barnes crossed the century mark with ease in 55-7 win over Bolivar Central on Friday night. Barnes went for 193 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries. He had a 92-yard touchdown rush in the win.

Westview is 8-0 heading into the bye week, and positioned well to win back-to-back TSSAA state titles with the help of Barnes and fellow nationally ranked quarterback Graham Simpson.

Three-star quarterback Derrick Baker (2027)

Before Craft makes it to campus, Baker will be settled in. That’s exactly what he’s done as the season’s progressed for Milton (Ga.).

Baker enjoyed a bye week Friday night, but he helped the Eagles to another dominant win the week prior. The 6-foot-1, 226-pound quarterback went 16-of-26 for 281 yards and three touchdowns with an interception through the air. He guided Milton to a 60-21 win over Lanier on Oct. 2.

Milton is 5-1 on the season and hasn’t lost a game since a Week 2 heartbreaker to Blessed Trinity. Baker has passed for 1,444 yards and 16 touchdowns with four picks on 64.7% passing this season. He has another 256 yards and five scores on the ground.

Four-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman (2027)

Tennessee footballs wide receivers embrace the physicality of being a blocker to aid the run game. The Vols’ top receiver commit in the 2027 class embraced it on Friday as well.

On a touchdown run by teammate Larry Sanders II, Bowman was seen tossing his defender to the ground in a video posted to X.

He helped Brentwood Academy (Tenn.) to a 42-7 win over Briarcrest Christian. The Eagles are 6-2 this season.
