Tennessee basketball will open exhibition play on Thursday. The Vols will host Xavier at Food City Center.

Tipoff between the Vols and Musketeers is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT. The game can be watched on SEC Network+ with Andy Brock (play-by-play) and Steve Hamer (analyst) will be on the call.

Tennessee leads the all-time basketball series against Xavier, 12-5, dating to Jan. 24, 1936.

Tennessee released projected starters on Wednesday for the Xavier game. Juke Harris, Terrence Hill Jr., Dai Dai Ames and Jalen Haralson are the Vols' guards who are projected to start. Forward DeWayne Brown II is also listed as a projected starter against the Musketeers.

Rick Barnes has not faced Xavier in the regular season or the postseason during his tenure as Tennessee's head coach.

The last meeting between the two schools was on Nov. 29, 2013. The Vols won, 64-49, in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
