The College Football Playoff system will expand to 24 teams in 2027. After the chaos on Saturday, some schools would like to see it pushed up to this season.

Projecting the AP Top 25 through a crystal football is more like trying to see the teams through a snow globe being shaken at warp speed after the upsets on Saturday.

No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 5 Indiana, No. 6 Alabama and No. 7 Texas all lost.

The SEC continues to pummel itself in conference play. Meanwhile, Notre Dame lost a game it had to have at BYU. The Fighting Irish are an independent and the game against the Cougars and one next month against Miami were the ones to show what they were about.

Let's start by taking two-loss Texas and Alabama out of the Top 10 and to go from there.

10. UCLA (6-0)

There is zero chance anyone would have had the Bruins as the last undefeated team in the Big Ten. But here we are after their win over Wisconsin. This is kind of scary but the only ranked team left on UCLA's schedule is USC in the final regular season game.

9. Tennessee (6-1)

The Vols move into the Top 10 by virtue of an impressive win over the Crimson Tide. They handled Alabama and need to make sure they don't drop their guard at South Carolina in Week 8.

8. Utah (6-0)

The Utes managed to avoid the upset bug despite giving up 17 in a row to Colorado before regaining the lead.

7. Texas Tech (6-0)

The Red Raiders clobbered Arizona State to remain unbeaten. Their toughest remaining game is at Oklahoma State on Nov. 14. At this point, it would not be shocking if Texas Tech ran the table.

6. Indiana (6-1)

If Nick Marsh had kept his foot inbounds, the Hoosiers would have taken down Ohio State. He didn't and Indiana's win streak ended in a tight game.

5. Mississippi (5-1)

The Rebels have won a couple of games in romps since losing to Florida. They need to be wary on Saturday because they are in Austin to play Texas, a team that can't afford another loss.

4. Notre Dame (6-1)

Easy to say now but ND probably shouldn't have been a huge favorite in Provo. The Fighting Irish saw a late drive fail when a CJ Carr fell incomplete to end the game.

4. Ohio State (6-1)

The Buckeyes won at Indiana, which was a great win. That said, losing quarterback Julian Sayin for multiple weeks is going to make their road to victory much more difficult until he returns.

3. BYU (6-0)

The Cougars showed their mettle, topping Notre Dame and handing the Fighting Irish their first defeat. BYU had best not let down next week on the road at UCF. The Cougars were double-digit underdogs against Notre Dame and showed everyone they are the real deal.

2. Georgia (6-1)

The Dawgs got bit at home by Auburn on a field goal as time ran out. Not a good look for Kirby Smart and his team, which was a huge favorite.

1. Miami (6-0)

The Hurricanes survived Florida State's upset bid, finally winning in double overtime. On a week when the Top 10 saw many teams tumble, finding a way to remain undefeated earns the top spot.
