It’s Week 9 of the college football season, and the Big 12 has been full of upsets. Last week, we saw both Texas Tech and BYU go down. The Red Raiders went into Cincinnati and lost to the Bearcats, while the Cougars lost an overtime game to UCF.

It’s a new week, but with so many upsets in the past two weeks, it’s certainly possible the Big 12 has some more. The conference continues to eat each other alive and that’s not helping the Big 12 in search of having more than one team in the College Football Playoff.

Here’s how every Big 12 game can go down this weekend.

This game is in Lubbock, but Texas Tech might not be the team to pick to win this game. Obviously, stats don’t mean everything, or anything, but Arizona has a higher-ranked offense and defense compared to Texas Tech in the Big 12.

And in this game, it comes down to quarterback play. Let’s be honest, the Red Raiders’ defense is a shell of what it was a year ago. Cincinnati ran all over Texas Tech last week, and while the Wildcats don’t run the ball nearly as effectively, they do have Noah Fifita.

Arizona has the No. 2 passing offense in the Big 12, while Texas Tech has the No. 14 passing defense. Barring turnovers, Fifita is in store for a big day.

Final score: Arizona 34, Texas Tech 30

No. 6 Utah vs. Cincinnati

Can lightning strike twice in Nippert Stadium? Last week, the Bearcats came away with a massive 37-24 win over Texas Tech. This week, Cincinnati will host Utah, the lone unbeaten team in the Big 12.

This won’t be the same test for Cincinnati, though. Utah is more of a complete team, and the Utes do exactly what the Bearcats want to do: run the ball. Quarterback Devon Dampier continues to lead the offense, and he’s effective on the ground.

If the Bearcats are going to win, they have to slow down the Utes’ run game while establishing the run against a tough Utah defense. While Cincinnati did it last weekend, it won’t have the same success in Week 9.

Final score: Utah 31, Cincinnati 24

The rest of the games will be quick-hitter style:

  • UCF 27, Baylor 24
  • Colorado 24, Kansas State 20
  • No. 8 BYU 38, Arizona State 20
  • TCU 31, Kansas 27
  • No. 24 Oklahoma State 38, Iowa State 30
