What a chaotic week of college football. Week 7 was by far and away the most dramatic week and there were plenty of upsets. Five teams ranked in the top eight lost on Saturday, which was the most in one week.
Georgia, Notre Dame, Indiana, Alabama, and Texas all suffered losses, while the Hoosiers’ loss wasn’t an upset — the rest were. In total, there were eight teams ranked in the top-25 to suffer a loss on Saturday. And the SEC was full of upsets.
The Bulldogs were massive favorites over Auburn, and one week after beating Alabama, Georgia was on the losing end. Texas suffered its second loss in a row after the reeling Florida Gators went into Austin and upset the Longhorns.
There were also close calls in two of the best games of the day. Despite losing quarterback Julian Sayin, Ohio State managed to beat Indiana, 19-15, in Bloomington. And then Notre Dame had a last-second try to take down BYU, but the Cougars hung on 28-24 to beat the Irish.
With all kinds of shocking results, the AP Top 25 poll will have a lot of shakeup on Sunday.
