Oklahoma offensive tackle Michael Fasusi’s availability remains uncertain for Saturday’s Red River Rivalry matchup against Texas as he continues recovering from a shoulder injury suffered in the Sooners’ season-opening win over UTEP.
Fasusi had previously dealt with the injury during training camp and appeared to aggravate it against the Miners. He was listed as doubtful on SEC’s initial injury Wednesday, dealing a big blow to Oklahoma’s offensive line that has faced injuries and protection issues this season.
As a true freshman last season, Fasusi appeared in 11 games and started 10, allowing four sacks across 395 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Sooners have surrendered nine sacks through four games, although six came in their two Power 4 contests versus Michigan and Georgia. Oklahoma now faces a Longhorns defensive front led by veteran EDGE Colin Simmons, who are coming off a strong defensive performance against Tennessee.
Fasusi was not the only Sooners offensive lineman on Wednesday’s report. Eddy Pierre-Louis is questionable, while Fred Hinton is doubtful. Linebacker Owen Heinecke is probable after suffering a hamstring strain versus Georgia. He leads Oklahoma with 28 tackles.
The Sooners enter the matchup against Texas at 2-2. The game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday in Dallas and will be televised on ABC.
