Notre Dame continues it's impressive and dominant win streak dating back to last season. Since September of 2025, the Irish have now rattled off 15 straight victories, all by double digits, and continued to add to that total with their 37-26 victory over North Carolina yesterday afternoon in Chapel Hill. Head coach Marcus Freeman advances to 5-0 for the first time in his Fighting Irish tenure.

It was a coming out party for the Notre Dame ground game, rushing for 241 yards and averaging 5.4 yards per carry. But it was junior signal caller CJ Carr who stole the show with his electric performance against a Bill Belichick-led defense. The 6-2, 215-pound quarterback threw for 234 yards, completed 21-29 passes, threw four touchdowns and rushed for an additional score. Carr is the first Notre Dame player in 30 years to have back to back games with at least three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.

This dominant win streak for the Irish is unlike anything I've seen in my lifetime, and it dates back to their 56-30 victory over Purdue in Week 4 of the college football season in 2025. Since then, they've beaten every opponent they've faced by double digits and they are showing no signs of slowing down.

The rest of the college football slate also didn't disappoint this weekend. Teams going into the weekend ranked in the Top 10 all won by double digits outside of Texas and Ole Miss who had bye weeks, and the Florida Gators who were soundly beaten on the road 45-17 by the Missouri Tigers who now rank No. 14 by the Associated Press after their impressive victory at home.

Ohio State was on the road this weekend against Big Ten rival, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and picked up a 31-14 victory fueled by wide receiver Jeremiah Smith putting up, yet another, Heisman caliber performance ending the day with 11 receptions, 206 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Iowa now ranked No. 20 in the country after losing to the Buckeyes at home.

Another ranked team that lost at home this weekend was the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Coming into this matchup, many believed they have a really good chance of pulling the upset behind quarterback Kamario Taylor, but the door was quickly shut after Alabama jumped out to a 28-17 halftime lead. Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell passed for 285 yards and three touchdowns on the road and also rushed for an additional score. The Bulldogs now rank No. 17 in the country while Alabama moves up to the No. 6 in the country.
