Give credit to the AP Top 25 Poll for cleaning things up a bit.
With the rankings being maligned more than ever after a few glaring issues each week – the Coaches Poll is another hot mess – the AP got the two big ones right. Ole Miss is ranked ahead of LSU, and after its blowout win over Florida, Missouri is ranked ahead of the Gators.
There weren’t too many massive moves, but the pollsters swapped Indiana and Alabama, making the Georgia vs Alabama showdown this week just a bit bigger – now it’s No. 2 Bulldogs vs No. 6 Crimson Tide. Along with that, here are the Week 6 rankings.

AP Coaches Poll Week 6 Quick Hits

  • If the AP Poll was really on its game, Mississippi State would’ve been ranked ahead Missouri, but it’s 17. Mizzou at 14 and Florida at 16 is right. though.
  • The biggest winners this week were Missouri moving up to 14, and in a more subtle way, BYU and Oregon.
  • The biggest losers were Florida, who dropped eight spots, Iowa dropping six spots, and Michigan and Penn State who didn’t receive any votes.
