Notre Dame gains ground on top spot in post-Week 6 US LBM Coaches Poll

Notre Dame football took care of business on Saturday afternoon, defeating Stanford 58-7, and gained major ground in the post-Week 6 US LBM Coaches Poll.

With Texas getting upset by Oklahoma, there is a new No. 1, as Georgia takes the top spot and the Irish were also benefactors by the move. Last week, Notre Dame lost two first place votes leaving them with one, now they gained them back with three.

The top-6 saw a major shakeup, with the Kenny Minchey led Kentucky Wildcats upsetting LSU, and the aforementioned teams losing as well. With the season hitting its unofficial midway point, the College Football Playoff picture has become clearer. With College GameDay heading to Provo, the Irish and BYU will face off in a top-8 matchup.
