Week 6 ended late Saturday evening, but Colorado got a much-needed bye week after three straight losses that dropped the Buffaloes' record to 2-3 (0-2 Big 12). CU can forget about the weekly polls, but the latest US LBM Coaches Poll ranked five Big 12 teams, including Utah, the Buffaloes' Week 7 opponent.

BYU leads the conference, holding steady at No. 8 after a mediocre win over Iowa State. Texas Tech sits right behind them at No. 9. Utah rounds out the trio of top-15 Big 12 teams at No. 11, up a spot after a 41-24 win over Kansas. Houston beat a solid Kansas State team 35-16 and moved up to No. 18. Oklahoma is ranked once again after a couple of weeks as the first team left out. The Cowboys are No. 20 following a big win over UCF.

Arizona leads the receiving-votes section as the first Big 12 team, with 92 votes. Only Baylor (9 votes) joins the Wildcats as another conference member to receive a vote.

Elsewhere in college football, the top 10 saw a major reshuffle after No. 1 Texas lost to Oklahoma. Georgia took the top spot after beating Alabama, with Notre Dame (No. 2), Miami (No. 3), Indiana (No. 4), and Ohio State (No. 5) all moving up one spot. Texas falls to No. 6 while Alabama holds at No. 7.

Oregon fell 12 spots to No. 25 after dropping a home game to UCLA. The Bruins moved up 10 places after the win. LSU fell 11 spots after an overtime loss to Kentucky. Florida (No. 15), Duke (No. 23) and Pittsburgh (No. 24) all fell out of the poll following losses.
