Minnesota’s veteran linebacker is among 15 semifinalists after leading the Gophers with 52 tackles.
Maverick Baranowski has moved into the semifinal round for the 2026 Butkus Award, which honors the nation’s top linebacker. The fifth-year senior is one of 15 players still under consideration.
Baranowski has a team-high 52 tackles this season, along with 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and a recovery. Finalists are scheduled to be announced Nov. 20.
