LSU football picked up its first SEC win of 2026 and Lane Kiffin's tenure in Week 4 by defeating Texas A&M 35-6 in Baton Rouge. The Tigers dominated from start to finish, pulling away in the second half and clearing the bench by the third quarter.

The purple and gold needed to bury the Aggies early to get its starters out of the game. Injuries piled up throughout the first three weeks but increased dramatically against Texas A&M. Some of LSU's biggest playmakers are dealing with serious injuries not even midway through the season.

Adjustments must be made on both sides of the ball if LSU is to make it through the next few weeks unscathed. Depth will be tested, particularly at linebacker and across the pass catchers. Here is what Kiffin had to say about dealing with injuries after the Texas A&M game.

"I've not been around this many significant injuries early in the year like this," Kiffin said. "It's really unfortunate. Good thing was guys stepped up and played in place of really significant players."

Here is every LSU player known to be dealing with an injury suffered during the 2026 season.

Sam Leavitt, QB

Status: Uncertain for McNeese

The Tigers' signal caller limped throughout Saturday's game. Kiffin said he is dealing with a hamstring injury, which explained the tape and extra support on the back of Leavitt's leg. It hindered his scrambling abilities and forced him to deliver the ball from the pocket, which worked for LSU.

Leavitt threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns. He completed 74% of his pass attempts and nine of his passes went for 15 or more yards. Landen Clark relieved Leavitt once the game was comfortably out of reach but Leavitt could still start Saturday against McNeese.

Whit Weeks, LB

Status: Out for extended period with possibility of November return

Weeks left Saturday's game in the third quarter with a fractured fibula in his right leg. He departed wearing a walking boot and using crutches. The linebacker's return timetable is unclear after initial reports said he could take the field again in four to six weeks.

The Tigers thrive with Weeks' leadership and tenacity. Last year, he missed the final five games due to a right ankle injury. Weeks posted 24 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a quarterback hurry and a pass breakup so far in 2026.

Trey'Dez Green, TE

Status: Out for extended period with possibility of November return

The Tigers' biggest playmaker on offense, Green went down in the fourth quarter against Ole Miss and was helped off the field. He is targeting a return for the Alabama game on November 7, per CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.

Green completely changes the LSU offense. He blocks and catches passes across the middle and on the outside. Through three games, he has 222 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Dashawn Spears, S

Status: Out for the season

Spears is out for the season after tearing his ACL in the first half against Ole Miss. He plays the STAR position in defensive coordinator Blake Baker's system. Through two full games, the safety totaled seven tackles, including one for loss and a sack and a pass breakup.

The absence of Spears forces shifts across the secondary. Fellow safeties Ty Benefield and Tamarcus Cooley saw increased reps at the STAR while Jhase Thomas got more work at safety.

Charles Ross II, LB

Status: Out for the season

Ross was likely in line for more snaps with the injury to Spears but he is out for the remainder of the season. The sophomore linebacker tore his ACL against Texas A&M.

A contributor on defense and special teams, Ross will need to wait another year to break out for the Tigers.

Phillip Wright III, WR

Status: Out for the season

Wright was the only LSU wide receiver who caught a pass in 2025 to return to the team in 2026. Wright is talented and is one of the fastest players on LSU's roster. Wright was important to LSU's special teams operation and was fighting for more playing time on offense.

Gabe Reliford, DE

Status: Out for the season

Defensive end Gabe Reliford was supposed to be a key part of LSU's defensive end rotation, but tore his ACL in spring practice. Losing Reliford hurt the Tigers' depth at the position. Reliford has remained involved with the team, and there's speculation he could return if LSU made a deep playoff run, but most ACLs take nearly a full year to recover.
