Specifically, that includes two freshmen defensive players: cornerback Samari Matthews and safety Yaheim Riley. It’s unclear why either player was not in attendance as the 2026 season nearly officially gets underway. We’ll follow up if we get ahold of any additional information related to the players’ notable absences.
