Texas enters the rivalry showdown undefeated at 4-0, looking to maintain its No. 1 ranking and strengthen its College Football Playoff résumé. The Longhorns have already picked up impressive victories over Ohio State and Tennessee, establishing themselves as one of the nation’s top championship contenders.

Quarterback Arch Manning leads the offense, while defensive standout Colin Simmons anchors a unit that has been among the best in college football. Texas also enters the matchup seeking its third consecutive victory over Oklahoma after defeating the Sooners 23-6 last season.

Oklahoma has experienced a much different start to the season, entering Saturday’s contest with a 2-2 record following losses to Michigan and Georgia. The Sooners struggled offensively in their most recent outing, falling 41-13 to the Bulldogs while committing four turnovers.

Quarterback John Mateer will need a much stronger performance against a talented Texas defense if Oklahoma hopes to pull off the upset. Despite the Longhorns entering as favorites, the Red River Rivalry has a history of producing unpredictable results, giving the Sooners an opportunity to turn their season around with a statement victory.
