Lane Kiffin’s move to LSU Tigers doesn’t change luck vs. Alabama appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

Lane Kiffin’s hardships against Alabama continue to live on as the No. 14 LSU Tigers suffered a 31-13 loss to the No. 5 Crimson Tide on Saturday night.

Kiffin is going through his first season as the Tigers’ head coach following a controversial exit from Ole Miss. He looks to achieve the objective of leading LSU to the College Football Playoffs, one that seems to be harder than he initially anticipated.

Going into the matchup, Kiffin had an 0-5 all-time record in his duels with Alabama. Unfortunately, that record fell to 0-6 as LSU had no answer for Alabama’s balanced attack throughout the course of the game.

How Lane Kiffin, LSU performed against Alabama

Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers have some self-reflecting to do after losing to Alabama. Falling to 6-3 this season, they will need to win out to have an outside chance of being in CFP contention.

Both teams traded blows throughout the contest, seeing Alabama up 17-13 after three quarters. It wasn’t until the fourth period when the Crimson Tide took full control, outscoring LSU 14-0 in the last 15 minutes of regulation.

Sam Leavitt failed to record any type of touchdown in the game, frequently throwing the ball to receivers for potential scoring opportunities but to no avail. He completed 35 out of 47 passes for 380 yards and an interception.

Dilin Jones led the run game with 17 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown while catching seven passes for 36 yards. Jackson Harris commanded receivers with 11 catches for 166 yards, while Trey’Dez Green caught 10 passes for 85 yards.
