Lane Kiffin’s daughter, Landry, isn’t afraid to show love for multiple SEC football programs.

The daughter of the LSU Tigers head coach has of course shown love for her dad’s team. It’s also the team of her boyfriend, linebacker Whit Weeks. But she’s also a student at Ole Miss, rooting for the Rebels.

Over the weekend, she added a third SEC team into the mix, cheering for Texas in the Red River Rivalry Game against Oklahoma.

“a change of scenery,” she wrote.

Not everyone is accepting of the rooting for different teams strategy, though. Fans have been critical of her in her Instagram comments.

“Just can’t pick a winning team 🤦,” one fan joked.

“Bro lsu AND Texas lost 😭😭 yo please don’t root for ole miss gang 🙏🏻,” one fan added.

“Didn’t your boy play for LSU? 😂,” one fan added.

Ultimately, Landry Kiffin was just having fun, attending a huge college football rivalry game, and it’s not like LSU or Ole Miss was playing. But, given social media in 2026, it’s not shocking to see her face some blowback.

It was a tough weekend for the Kiffin family

While Landry Kiffin rooted for Texas in a loss to Oklahoma, her dad, Lane Kiffin, suffered an upset loss at Kentucky.

Kiffin was disappointed by LSU’s execution on Saturday night, pointing out a punt return for a TD by Kentucky.

“If you don’t execute, you don’t execute,” Kiffin told reporters. “The punt return, you got a player there tackling him and doesn’t tackle him, and he goes outside and, you know, on the long run, he swooped out of a gap and the ball goes for a long run. If you don’t do fundamentally sound stuff, you get exposed versus good teams.”

LSU let Kentucky hang around and it cost them.

“When the chance comes in the fourth quarter, you can’t let ’em hang around,” Kiffin told reporters. “We had the ball ahead and then we turned the ball over. And another chance to end it there so they don’t get it back. Obviously, things go the other way, you look at yourself first.”

LSU dropped to 4-2 on the year with the loss.
