The Kentucky Wildcats are on bye this week and lead the SEC. Up next, a road game at the Tennessee Volunteers.
Right now on FanDuel, Kentucky is a 5.5-point underdog. Kentucky’s moneyline is +172, while Tennessee’s is -210. The over/under on the game is 49.5.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Will Stein uses a similar approach to this game as he did for the Vanderbilt game. Obviously, Stein wasn’t here for the game last year against the Volunteers. But as he talked about leading into the Vanderbilt game this past week, he may embrace what happened to the Wildcats against them last year and use that as motivation for this year’s team and this game on November 7th.
Despite possessing the ball for over 12 more minutes than Tennessee, the Volunteers lit up Kentucky in a 56-34 win at Kroger Field last October. Jason Patterson was held to 51 rushing yards on 16 carries for Kentucky. Tennessee won the last meeting at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville 28-18.
For this year’s matchup, Tennessee will be using its Dark Mode outfit.
Kentucky and Tennessee will kick off at 6:15 ET on ESPN on Saturday, November 7th. The Wildcats are No. 9 in the AP Poll, while Tennessee is No. 16 following a 27-24 loss at South Carolina this past Saturday.
Kentucky Reacts
While the football team looks to finish the season strong, the basketball Cats are set to open regular-season play next Tuesday vs. Manhattan. In our most recent Kentucky Reacts survey, fans were asked where they believe the basketball team should be ranked in the preseason polls. 45% voted for the 11-15 range, while 23% went with the 21-25 range.
