When the clock ticked down to zero on Saturday night, Kentucky football stood at 7-1 on the year, and in sole possession of first place in the SEC. It was a 34-17 win over Vanderbilt, and another reason for Big Blue Nation to celebrate.

The victory also, once again, catapulted up the top 25 in the newest US LBM Coaches Poll. They were just outside the top ten previously, but now the jump up to No. 8 after Saturday's win combined with some more big upsets around the country this week.

The Wildcats are now the second-highest ranked team in the SEC, only behind the Georgia Bulldogs, who come in at No. 3. The Alabama Crimson Tide is the only other team from the conference in the top ten. Overall, nine SEC teams are ranked this week, and two more received votes, but missed the top 25.

Kentucky heads into a bye week, meaning they should stay in the top ten next week before they enter their final gauntlet of games that includes the Tennessee Volunteers, Florida Gators, Missouri Tigers, and Louisville Cardinals.

Here is the full results of this week's coaches poll.
