Johnny Manziel is apparently going on the road to support the President of the United States.
The former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback will be going on the road in the state of Texas, where he starred collegiately at Texas A&M, to support President Trump and the Republicans.
Manziel, a first round pick out of Texas A&M, spent only a few seasons in the NFL, before flaming out of football, due to off-the-field issues. Manziel has since gotten into golf – he’s playing in this year’s Internet Invitational – while also making different media appearances.
“Former college football stars Johnny Manziel and Colt McCoy, along with two-time Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola, will join Trump for campaign appearances in Lubbock and Corpus Christi,” Axios reported.

President Trump is going all-in on football support, it seems. The Republicans have been spending millions on political ads during college football and NFL games.
“Trump has many bases. And football is one of them, college and pros,” said an adviser, per Axios. “The response is good. And the president loves the atmosphere. So why not?”
Axios added that the Trump administration sees football as a way to better connect with young men.
“Football offers Trump a way to reach younger men who helped power his 2024 victory — a constituency Republicans are struggling to energize in the midterms,” they added.
Other football figures to recently support President Trump include former NFL head coach Jon Gruden, who took part in some rallies in Florida. Meanwhile, U.S. vice president J.D. Vance attended practice at the facility of the Cincinnati Bengals.
