On Tuesday night, the first set of College Football Playoff rankings will be released. Through nine weeks of college football, there has been nothing but chaos and there are just three unbeaten teams remaining. Miami, Utah, and UCLA have yet to falter, but both Miami and the Utes will have a big test this weekend.
With the Hurricanes set to play Notre Dame and Utah taking on BYU, the initial playoff rankings are going to be shuffled around one week from Tuesday.
We’ve seen a lot of good football and upsets this season and not many people know the college football landscape better than FOX analyst Joel Klatt, who calls the Big Noon game every week with Gus Johnson. Weekly, Klatt breaks down the previous week’s action, along with giving his new top 10.

Klatt’s top 10 after Week 9

10. Alabama
9. Ohio State
8. Kentucky
7. Texas
6. Utah
5. UCLA
4. Notre Dame
3. Indiana
2. Georgia
1. Miami
Arguably the biggest takeaway from Klatt’s top 10 is that he has the Texas Longhorns ranked No. 7.
“I know everyone’s going to be upset about this, but you know what? I don’t care,” Klatt said. “I’ve got Texas at seven. If you look at their strength of schedule, their wins, if I was in the committee room, I would have them up there. I would have them up there.
“They took care of Mississippi State 31-3….They had 280 total yards. Arch took five sacks in that game. They’ve got to get better than that. Again, if it’s not an Arch centric offense, they’re a better offense. They’ve got to figure out how to run the football first..”
BYU snubbed, Klatt names bubble teams

While these teams didn’t make Klatt’s top-10, he has BYU, Ole Miss, LSU, USC, and Wake Forest on the bubble.
“BYU is just outside of my top 10,” said Klatt. “Kind of a disappointing performance against Arizona State. That Arizona State team 4-3. You beat them by seven at home.”
Ole Miss’ resume is good, but it lost to both Florida and Texas. However, as Klatt said, both LSU and the Rebels can easily play themselves into contention in the final four weeks of the season. Both Wake Forest and USC can score at high volumes and control their own destiny if they can keep winning.
