Tennessee football sent college football into chaos by beating No. 6 Alabama 26-10 Saturday. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles sent social media into a frenzy by showing rare dance moves.

The 61-year-old went viral by proving he can still move great at his age. But he sent social media ablaze with his locker room celebration.

Knowles previously won a national title in 2024 with Ohio State. Which came during a time he had younger versions of Arvell Reese, Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs. He never got retained at Penn State once Matt Campbell accepted the head coaching job there. So head coach Josh Heupel swooped up the veteran coordinator to Knoxville, aiming to reignite their national title hopes.

Knowles’ scheme put on a clinic inside Neyland Stadium against a top 10 program. Alabama got bottled to just 201 total yards on the day, but turned the ball over four times. Quarterback Keelon Russell lost two of his four turnovers on fumbles. The Volunteers also turned the pressure up on the dual-threat quarterback, sacking him five times.

Knowles turned loose Tyree Weatherby and Jeremiah Telander, who both delivered two sacks each. Arion Carter got the other sack for the Vols. All three bottled Russell to just 147 passing yards but only six through rushing. Knowles’ pass defensive plan worked into fruition as well, as no Crimson Tide wide receiver surpassed the 54-yard mark in the game. Alabama failed to run the football effectively too, with Daniel Hill leading the way at 34 yards.

Tennessee clearly envisions making it to the big dance for college football in the 12-team postseason. Now they have a defensive coordinator who can strut his stuff in the locker room and in the coaching booth.
