Grant Wilson connected with Charlie Becker on a 25-yard touchdown pass on the first snap of overtime, and No. 4 Indiana survived a chaotic finish to escape with a 23-16 victory over Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.
Becker provided the decisive score on a perfectly placed arching spiral from Wilson into the right side of the end zone. The Hoosiers' defense then sealed the victory on the ensuing possession, sacking Minnesota quarterback Drake Lindsey on fourth down.
Wilson completed 9 of 17 passes for 156 yards and the overtime touchdown for Indiana (8-1, 5-1 Big Ten). He took over under center after starting quarterback Josh Hoover was benched at halftime following an 8-of-19, 119-yard, one-touchdown, one-interception performance.
The overtime period followed a stunning exchange of 60-yard field goals in the final 19 seconds of regulation. Luke Drzewiecki appeared to deliver the upset for Minnesota (5-3, 3-2), drilling a 60-yard field goal with 19 seconds remaining to push the Golden Gophers ahead 16-13.

Indiana answered in two plays. Wilson found Becker along the sideline for a 33-yard strike, and Paddy McAteer split the uprights from 60 yards out as time expired, forcing OT.
Drzewiecki had earlier given Minnesota a 13-10 lead with a 51-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter, but Indiana tied the game at 13-13 on Nico Radicic’s 34-yarder with 3:05 left.
Drzewiecki opened the game's scoring with a 37-yard field goal before Hoover put Indiana ahead 7-3 late in the first quarter with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Nick Marsh.
Minnesota answered with trickery with 4:15 left in the second quarter. Lindsey pitched right before receiving a toss back on a flea flicker, catching the Hoosiers' secondary out of position to deliver a 39-yard touchdown strike to Roman Voss down the right sideline for a 10-7 lead. Lindsey finished 20-of-37 for 120 yards.
