The Bearcats revitalized their Big 12 prospects with a surprise victory over the Red Raiders last weekend and are back on the prowl for another win against the odds this weekend.

No. 6 Utah boasts a perfect 4-0 record in the Big 12 and stands proudly as one of only three FBS programs posting a perfect 7-0 record as things stand. Morgan Scalley couldn’t have hoped for a better start in his first season as head coach, though that perhaps shouldn’t come as a surprise for the man who’s been serving this program in different capacities for the past two decades.

Saturday marks only the second time these teams have faced off following Utah’s debut in the Big 12 two years ago. The Utes waltzed to a 45-14 demolition of the Bearcats in Salt Lake City exactly 12 months ago, though Cincy will hope a raucous reception in Ohio is enough to shift the balance of power this time around.

Utah quarterback Devon Dampier produced a mixed bag in last week’s 21-13 win over Houston, failing to connect on a touchdown pass for the first time this season. He also set his side back with two interceptions, though his legs did the talking elsewhere as he rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns off 15 attempts.
