Whew! Week 5 lived up to the hype and for others, it destroyed their hype. Missouri pounded Florida, so Jadan Baugh (29 total yards) lost his spot in the Heisman race, whereas Alabama's Keelon Russell skyrocketed into the oddsmakers top four after four total touchdowns against Mississippi State. This week is #2 Georgia at #6 Alabama, so Russell will have another chance to jump the rankings as everyone chases as the heels of Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith. With that being said, let’s hop into the rankings! Heisman Trophy odds are courtesy of DraftKings. Let’s get started!

Ohio State Buckeyes Primary Logo

1. Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State Buckeyes (+110)
2026 Stats: 44 rec | 823 rec yards | 18.7 ypc | 9 TDs
Last Game: 11 rec | 206 rec yards | 18.7 ypc | 2 TDs
Next Game: Vs Maryland — Saturday at 4:15 PM ET

Jeremiah Smith is on a run right now. I can't name a time I've ever seen a wide out go back-to-back games of 200-plus yards, double-digit receptions, and at least two touchdowns. Smith caught 11 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns against Iowa a week after going for 12 receptions, 217 yards, and four touchdowns on Illinois. Following the 31-14 win over Iowa, Smith became Ohio State’s leader in receptions (207), receiving yards (3,381) and receiving touchdowns (36). He leads the country in receptions (44), receiving yards (823) and tied for first in receiving touchdowns (9).

2. Darian Mensah, Miami Hurricanes (+480)
2026 Stats: 1,438 pass yards | 15 pass TDs | 84.2 comp% | 0 INT
Last Game: 227 pass yards | 2 total TDs | 66.7 comp% | 0 INT
Next Game: Bye Week

Darian Mensah had his quietest game of the season with 227 yards and two total touchdowns versus Clemson. Mensah recorded his first rushing touchdown of the year and completed 18 out of 27 passes (66.7%) in the 41-13 win. Miami now enjoys the bye week before playing Florida State on Oct. 17. Mensah enters the break with 15 passing touchdowns (T-3rd) with no interceptions and the second-best QBR in the nation (91.9). Miami has yet to play a ranked opponent but that could happen Oct. 24 with #25 Pitt.

Alabama.svg

3. Keelon Russell, Alabama Crimson Tide (+750)
2026 Stats: 1,414 pass yards |15 total TDs | 71.2 comp% | 2 INTs
Last Game: 285 pass yards | 4 total TDs | 72.7 comp% | 0 INT
Next Game: Vs #2 Georgia — Saturday at 7:30 PM ET

Keelon Russell and Alabama exploded for 56 points and 483 total yards of offense. Russell accounted for four total touchdowns, three passing and one rushing. It was Russell's fourth-straight game with a rushing touchdown and his third-consecutive with three or more passing touchdowns. It doesn't get much better than that.

Alabama hosts #2 Georgia this weekend for what could be the game of the year. Alabama is a -1.5 point favorite. The two teams are expected to endure heavy rain and wind due to a tornado warning. If Russell puts up his fourth-straight game with four or more touchdowns and win in terrible weather over the #2 ranked team, then Tuscaloosa's favorite quarterback will be the new Heisman favorite.

Notre_Dame.svg

4. CJ Carr, Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+750)
2026 Stats: 1,197 pass yards | 16 total TDs | 71.0 comp% | 1 INT
Last Game: 234 pass yards | 5 total TDs | 72.4 comp% | 0 INT
Next Game: Vs Stanford — Saturday 3:30 PM ET

For the second time this season, CJ Carr threw four touchdown passes, but for the first time in his career, he recorded five total touchdowns with a three-yard scamper. Notre Dame beat North Carolina, 37-26 as the Irish accounted for 475 total yards. Carr has 16 total touchdowns to one interception on the year. He's riding a three-game rushing touchdown streak and completing 71% of his passes. Carr should have another big outing with Stanford up next as the final tuneup before going to #8 BYU on Oct. 17.

Ole_Miss.svg

5. Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss Rebels (+1600)
2026 Stats: 1,222 pass yards | 12 total TDs | 70.8 comp% | 3 INTs
Last Game: 298 pass yards | 3 total TDs | 73.5 comp%| 1 INT
Next Game: At Vanderbilt — Saturday at 3:30 PM ET

Trindidad Chambliss and Ole Miss are coming off a bye week following the 52-28 loss at Florida. Ole Miss goes to Vanderbilt this week. Vanderbilt allowed Georgia's Gunner Stockton to throw three touchdowns last week in a 38-14 win, so Chambliss could certainly have a day. Kewan Lacy is expected back for the Rebels, so the offense could be in full force ahead of a four-game stretch versus #14 Missouri, #1 Texas, Auburn, and #2 Georgia.

MIAMI.png

6. Malachi Toney, Miami Hurricanes (+3000)
2026 Stats: 39 rec | 604 rec yards | 15.5 ypc | 6 TDs
Last Game: 5 rec | 40 rec yards | 8.0 ypc | 0 TD
Next Game: Bye Week

For the first time this season, Malachi Toney didn't score a touchdown. The Hurricanes star wide out caught five passes for 40 yards against Clemson, plus a rush attempt for 19 yards. Miami scored 41 points and Toney had little to do with that. While Jeremiah Smith is putting up crazy numbers, Toney's chances are slowly fading. Miami welcomes Florida State to town this weekend. Toney will need two scores or 150-plus yards to get back into voters minds.

Ohio State Buckeyes Primary Logo

7. Julian Sayin, Ohio State Buckeyes (+3500)
2026 Stats: 1,530 pass yards | 15 total TDs | 72.5 comp% | 1 INT
Last Game: 324 pass yards | 3 pass TDs | 74.1 comp% | 0 INT
Next Game: Vs Maryland — Saturday at 4:15 PM ET

Julian Sayin moves back into my rankings because how could he not after the last two games? Of course, Jeremiah Smith is getting the headlines for his numbers, but someone has to throw him the ball. Sayin has been dealing with seven touchdown passes and one rushing over the last two games against Illinois and at Iowa. While six of his seven touchdown passes went to Smith (plus 25 receptions), Sayin completed 47 out of 63 passes (74.6%) overall and 691 passing yards. Sayin now ranks No.1 in QBR, fourth in yards (1,530), and tied for ninth in passing touchdowns (13).

Mississippi_State.svg

8. Kamario Taylor, Mississippi State Bullodgs (+3500)
2026 Stats: 1,450 pass yards | 18 total TDs | 66.2 comp% | 4 INTs
Last Game: 258 pass yards | 3 pass TDs | 55.9 comp% | 2 INTs
Next Game: Bye Week

Kamario Taylor went from +500 to +3500 after the 56-23 loss to Alabama and he drops three spots for me. Despite the loss, he is still having a terrific season, but obviously the moment was too big. Taylor tossed two picks, his first multi-pick game; one on the second drive that followed by a fumble on the first drive. Both turnovers set Alabama up 14-0 and the Tide never looked back. However, I don't think Taylor's season will be defined by one game. He's thrown for three or more touchdowns in five-straight games and has 18 total touchdowns to four interceptions.

Indiana Hoosier Primary Logo

9. Josh Hoover, Indiana Hoosiers (+5000)
2026 Stats: 1,101 pass yards | 16 total TDs | 71.0 comp% | 0 INT
Last Game: 251 pass yards | 4 total TDs | 74.1 comp% | 0 INT
Next Game: At Nebraska — Saturday at 12:00 PM ET

Josh Hoover tossed four touchdowns in three of his five games with Indiana, including last week versus Rutgers in a 47-15 win. Hoover had 15 touchdowns and no interceptions on the season despite being tagged as turnover-prone from his time with TCU. Hoover has yet to throw 30 times in a game this season, but it might happen this Saturday at Nebraska. Following the Cornhuskers, Indiana hosts Ohio State for game of the year potential. These are a big two weeks for Hoover's Heisman campaign.

TEXAS.png

10. Arch Manning, Texas Longhorns (+2500)
2026 Stats: 862 pass yards | 7 pass TDs | 61.5 comp% | 2 INTs
Last Game: 201 pass yards | 0 total TDs | 73.7 comp% | 1 INT
Next Game: Vs Oklahoma — Saturday at 3:30 PM ET

Arch Manning had one of his worst games of the season at Tennessee. Manning completed 14 out of his 19 passes (73.7%) for 201 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. Texas had a season-low 262 total yards and went 3-of-12 on third downs. Texas will play Oklahoma in a neutral site game in Dallas. The game total is 39.5, oddsmakers aren't expecting many points from Texas nor Oklahoma.

Out of the Top 10

3. Jadan Baugh, Florida Gators (+1100)
2026 Stats: 83 carries | 600 rush yards | 7.2 ypc | 11 TDs
Last Game: 29 carries | 142 rush yards |4.9 ypc | 3 TDs
Next Game: At #25 Missouri — Saturday at 3:30 PM ET

Man oh man. There is no market for Jadan Baugh after the loss to Missouri. Baugh went for 13 rushing yards on 12 carries and caught three passes for 17 yards. As a running back competing for the Heisman, you really can't afford bad games. Baugh ran for at least 136 yards in four-straight games before the loss with two or more touchdowns. Florida plays South Carolina this weekend, then #1 Texas and #2 Georgia over the next two games. Baugh's Heisman case isn't over yet, but it's looking pretty dim.

New to the Top 10

Ohio State Buckeyes Primary Logo

7. Julian Sayin, Ohio State Buckeyes (+110)
2026 Stats: 33 rec | 617 rec yards | 18.7 ypc | 7 TDs
Last Game: 12 rec | 217 rec yards | 18.1 ypc | 4 TDs
Next Game: At #14 Iowa — Saturday at 3:30 PM ET

After throwing for 691 yards and seven touchdowns versus Illinois and Iowa, Julian Sayin now ranks No.1 in QBR, fourth in yards (1,530), and tied for ninth in passing touchdowns (13). With Jeremiah Smith collecting all the attention, Sayin is flying under the radar and climbing back into contention.
