Heisman Trophy betting odds: Favorites, contenders, future picks for Week 5 including Smith, Baugh, Taylor

Week 4 delivered some Heisman moments! Florida's Jadan Baugh went bananas in 52-28 win over #4 Ole Miss with 156 total yards and three touchdowns, while Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith topped that with a career-day of 12 receptions, 217 yards, and four touchdowns! On the other side, plenty of guys like Trinidad Chambliss and Jayden Maiava dropped after losses. With that being said, let's hop into the rankings! Heisman Trophy odds are courtesy of DraftKings. Darian Mensah had another impeccable performance, going 23-of-27 for 338 yards and three touchdowns against Central Michigan. Mensah now has a 14:0 TD-to-INT ratio and has completed 88.7% of his passes. Insanity. The Miami offense was made for Mensah and the Hurricanes as the offense ranks seventh in third-down offense (55.6%), first in team passing efficiency (219.30), second with 123 first downs, first in total yards (588.8 ypg) and the third-ranked scoring offense (51.8 ppg).

Two words. Jeremiah Smith. The Buckeyes star receiver is the new sports book favorite for the Heisman Trophy after scoring four touchdowns on 12 receptions and 217 yards against Illinois — all career-highs. It was the first time in Ohio State history that a receiver had a double-digit number of catches go for at least 200 yards, and four scores in a game. Smith and Ohio State face a ranked Iowa squad next. Smith caught four passes for 89 yards and a touchdown against the Hawkeyes in 2024 — his only meeting with them.

Jadan Baugh and Duke Clark went for 280 total yards and four touchdowns as Florida’s offense totaled 498 yards, no turnovers, and no sacks taken in a 52-28 win over #4 Ole Miss! Baugh put himself on Heisman watch with 142 rushing yards on 29 carries and three touchdowns from the four-year line or closer. Baugh has now amassed 600 rushing yards through four games and 11 touchdowns on 83 carries. He ranks second in rushing yards, first in touchdowns, and tied fifth in rushing attempts. He might be the only running back capable of winning the Heisman.

Malachi Toney has now scored in six-straight games going back to last year and has eight touchdowns in that span. Toney caught six passes for 120 yards and an eight-yard touchdown. The star sophomore has led Miami in receiving yards every game this season and is on pace to shatter his regular season freshman numbers with Carson Beck. Toney has at least 96 yards in every game and if he plays all 12 regular season games at this pace, Toney would finish with 102 receptions, 1,692 yards, and 18 touchdowns. He is eating off every DB's plate this season.

Kamario Taylor is the latest Heisman sensation at quarterback. Taylor has 15 total touchdowns to two interceptions on the season and crossed the 1,300-yard mark through four games. He was dropping dimes against Missouri, and even had a neat touchdown pass off a fake draw concept that had shades of classic Tim Tebow (play design only). With #7 Alabama up next, Taylor's Heisman case might come to a close, but then again, maybe it's just getting started!

For the second-straight year, Notre Dame rolled Purdue. This time around, CJ Carr tossed three touchdowns to one interception and ran in another score from a yard out. Carr led Notre Dame to 444 total yards of offense, 10.3 yards per completion, and 5.5 yards per carry. The Irish committed one penalty and one turnover in 24 minutes for time of possession. Next up is North Carolina who just allowed Clemson to throw for 215 yards.

Keelon Russell is balling with Bama! Russell had four touchdown passes and a rushing score versus South Carolina in a 49-18 win. The Tide offense broke Dylan Stewart and the Gamecocks as Alabama cruised to 489 total yards of offense. Russell was responsible for 365 through the air and 35 on the ground to go along with his career-high five touchdowns. Russell has completed 44 out of 57 passes in the last two games (77.1%) with nine touchdowns as Alabama has scored 99 points in that span. Kamario Taylor and #16 Mississippi State are next, then #2 Georgia!

After being the favorite to win the Heisman entering Week 4, Trinidad Chambliss finds himself ranked sixth per oddsmakers and drops six spots in my rankings. Without Kewan Lacy, the Ole Miss offense struggled and became one-dimensional at times. Chambliss ran in two scores and threw for another touchdown, plus an interception in the 52-28 loss at Florida. He totaled 342 yards of offense, but it wasn't enough. After scoring a touchdown fresh out of halftime to make it 17-14, Florida outscored Ole Miss 35-14 the rest of the way.

I think Arch Manning will fit in perfectly with the Cleveland Browns next season. I mean, have we seen a guy more ready to be in Cleveland? I am a Steelers fan, so don't take it to heart. A lot has been left to be desired when watching Manning play lately as he simply has not been impressive. Manning threw an interception, no touchdowns, and 201 yards on 14-of-19 at Tennessee. He didn't do anything extraordinary in the top 25 matchup and now has more interceptions (2) than touchdowns (1) against P4 opponents this season, plus a 63.5 completion percentage over four games. Even if Texas goes 12-0 in the regular season, I might be one of those people that goes on record against Manning winning the Heisman.

The Indiana offense was unimpressive against Northwestern in the first half, but flipped the script in the second half. The Hoosiers scored a season-low 29 points and recorded 472 yards of offense. Josh Hoover was responsible for 201 of that as the Hoosiers ran wild for 271 yards and two scores. Hoover was responsible for one of those rushing touchdowns and he threw another. Indiana has back-to-back road games at Rutgers and Nebraska over the next two weeks.

Out of the Top 10

Charlie Becker had a great all-around game against Northwestern with seven receptions for 98 yards, but there simply isn't enough room on this list for three wide receivers and one running back.

After taking the loss to Oregon, Jayden Maiava's Heisman case is basically out the window unless USC beats Ohio State and Indiana back-to-back week games on Oct. 31 and Nov. 14. Maiava threw for 323 yards on 23-of-42 (54.8%) versus Oregon to go along with three total touchdowns (two pass, one rush) and an interception. USC turned the ball over on downs and Maiava threw an interception on the Trojans final two drives, which sealed the deal in the 41-27 loss.

New to the Top 25

Jadan Baugh ended 2025 with a career-high 266 rushing yards, 38 carries, and two touchdowns against Florida State. To start 2026, Baugh has four-straight games of 100-plus yards and at least two touchdowns, so make it five dating back to last year. Baugh leads the nation with 11 rushing touchdowns and is second with 600 rushing yards. Baugh could find himself even higher on this list over the next weeks, but Florida still has to face #1 Texas on Oct. 17 and #2 Georgia on Oct. 31.

With #16 Mississippi State, #2 Georgia, #17 Tennessee, and Texas A&M over the next four weeks, Keelon Russell will have plenty of opportunities to prove himself worthy of the Heisman. A 3-1 record or 4-0 would position him in the top three more than likely, but anything else has him on the outside looking in.
