The Georgia Bulldogs flipped the No. 1 junior college recruit in the country. According to Rivals, they flipped defensive lineman Christian Mays from the Tennessee Volunteers.

Mays is a four-star from the class of 2027, although he graduated high school in 2025. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound defensive lineman plays junior collegiate football for Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, Mississippi. He is the No. 1 JUCO recruit in the nation. He finished his freshman season in 2025 with 17 tackles, five tackles for loss, and one sack in eight games

Georgia has made a statement in the JUCO recruiting ranks. Along with Mays, they flipped cornerback Alius Mayo from the Cal Golden Bears on Sept. 29. The standout corner from Modest College is a four-star.

"Just wanted to express how thankful I am for the whole Tennessee program for recruiting me and believing in me," Mays said via social media. "After a lot of thought and prayer and deep conversations with my family, I’ve decided to decommit from Tennessee and (am) now committed to the University of Georgia."

Overall, Georgia has the No. 9 recruiting class in the nation. They've benefited from flipping several commits, such as Kemon Spell (Penn State), Kennedee Jackson (Florida), and Jamir Dean (Penn State). Georgia has 24 commitments. The Bulldogs also recently flipped three-star safety recruit Braylon Miller from Liberty.
