The Georgia Bulldogs were lost 27-24 to the Auburn Tigers on Saturday. Georgia went into the game as the No. 1 team in the AP top 25. They had notable wins against Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma. Other teams like Texas lost two weeks ago to Oklahoma, which catapulted Georgia to No. 1 ahead of Week 7 in college football.

But that ranking wasn’t held very long, and with the loss to Auburn, they’re down four spots and are now ranked 5th. The Miami Hurricanes are now ranked 1st after beating Florida State 43-35 in double overtime. BYU is 2nd after beating Notre Dame.

Although the Bulldogs lost, they still are a good team. They'll need more prime wins and maybe some luck to get back to that top spot. Georgia is 6-1 going into their bye week, and they'll take on the Florida Gators in Atlanta on Oct. 31. Georgia still has the best record in the SEC. Florida is ranked No. 20 in the AP Poll and also has a bye week.
