The Georgia Bulldogs are set to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in a pivotal game, not just in the SEC, but in college football.

Georgia and Alabama are both undefeated and looking like legit title contenders, but the winner of Saturday’s matchup will be the team to beat.

FANTASY FOOTBALL: Fantasy Football QB Rankings: Who To Start Week 5?

Although the Texas Longhorns are the No. 1-ranked team — and in Lindy’s most recent rankings — the winner of Georgia and Alabama will pose a lot of problems for Texas. A big reason why the Longhorns are the No. 1-ranked team is because of their win over Ohio State, which is the best win in college football.

However, whoever wins this game could put Texas atop the rankings and prove they are the team to beat. Georgia’s offense is led by Gunner Stockton, who is a solid quarterback, while the Bulldogs’ defense is looking legit.

Georgia has allowed 20+ points just once this season, as they limited Oklahoma to 13, Vanderbilt to 14, and Arkansas to 17 points. Alabama’s offense is next level, which will be a big test for the Bulldogs.

As for the Crimson Tide, quarterback Keelon Russell is a Heisman contender and is slowly becoming one of the best in the country. The Crimson Tide’s offense is well-rounded, which makes them so dangerous, as they have multiple options at receiver, which makes them hard to defend.

Although their physicality is a question mark, the Crimson Tide are one of the most talented teams in the country on offense and defense.

Even though both Georgia and Alabama should very well be in the playoffs, whoever wins this game has a real path to being the No. 1 seed and the team to beat.

Georgia and Alabama have been the top two teams in the SEC for years.

They met in the SEC Championship a year ago, and on Saturday, the teams will meet again in the best game of the week, and maybe the best game of the regular season.

Although Georgia blew out Alabama in the SEC Championship a year ago, Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart believes that doesn’t matter.

“They’re healthier,” Smart said on Wednesday when asked what’s the biggest difference between Alabama today and the SEC Championship. “They’re a different team right now, in terms of the two quarterbacks being different. They’re both uber talented, but they’re very different quarterbacks. Different physical makeup of the team. They’re bigger defensively.”

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer, meanwhile, believes Georgia will be the Crimson Tide this season, and is a good test to see how they stack up.

“Georgia, they’re gonna be our toughest challenge by far up to this point, (and) Coach Smart, and just everything he’s done there, building the program up, and again, this season, just doing an amazing job from just jumping on top of teams,” DeBoer said on Oct. 5.

Although there are some weather concerns for Georgia vs. Alabama. If the game kicks off, both offenses should be on display in what should be a very competitive game.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
