Texas A&M's top-ranked recruiting class has taken a hit, with the Miami Hurricanes flipping four-star linebacker Aston Whiteside from the Aggies, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

Whiteside is from Burleson, Texas, and had been committed to Texas A&M since June 1, committing shortly after he officially visited. Miami never stopped recruiting the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder and was able to get him to campus for a visit last weekend, allowing them to complete the flip.

He is ranked as the No. 376 overall player and No. 31 linebacker in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 47 player from Texas.

Whiteside has had a solid senior season at Lovejoy High School. In nine games, he has recorded 46 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, eight pass breakups, and blocked one kick.

While his loss stings, the Aggies still have an elite recruiting class. They now have 24 commits, including five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson and four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen. They have five commitments from five-star prospects, the most of any school in the country.
