Jon Sumrall and his squad make their way to Georgia, as the No. 17 Florida Gators visit the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET. It is time to continue the NCAA Football odds series with a Florida-Georgia prediction and pick.

Florida enters the game sitting at 5-2. They started the season with a 66-21 win over the Florida Atlantic Owls in Week 1. They secured a 52-3 blowout win over Campbell, squeezed out a 44-39 nailbiter at Auburn, then put together an incredible display in their 52-28 upset win over Ole Miss in Week 4. This allowed them to jump all the way up to No. 8 in the latest AP Top 25 poll. However, they fell out of the rankings following losses to Missouri (45-17) and South Carolina (38-19) before returning at No. 17 after stunning the then-No. 3 Texas Longhorns (27-24).

Meanwhile, Georgia boasts a 6-1 record. They started the season with a 63-3 blowout win over the Tennessee State Tigers and torched the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 70-20. They continued their winning momentum by beating the Arkansas Razorbacks 45-17, the Oklahoma Sooners 41-13, the Vanderbilt Commodores 38-14, and the then-No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide 20-17. This allowed them to be No. 1 in the AP Top 25 poll, overtaking Texas. However, their perfect start ended after losing 27-24 to the Auburn Tigers.

Florida vs. Georgia Prediction and Pick

This matchup between Florida and Georgia stands out as an intriguing matchup. The Gators have their moments of making serious noise across the country, enjoying a solid campaign in their first year with head coach Jon Sumrall. However, their lapses tend to lower their ceiling, especially against teams inside the AP Top 25. Georgia stands out as Florida’s toughest test to date this season, seeing the Bulldogs be elite on both sides of the ball. And given recent history, it will be hard for Florida to have the upper hand for most of the day against the current SEC powerhouse and aspiring national championship contender. Georgia gets the win in this one and covers, while the over also hits.
