Colorado finally got back in the win column after five straight losses, taking down Kansas State in overtime, 27-24. Despite the win, Colorado is far from being considered for the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, but the Big 12 Conference holds steady with five teams in the poll after Week 9 results.

Utah took care of business on the road at Cincinnati and moved up one spot to No. 4, the top ranking in the Big 12. BYU and Texas Tech moved up one spot each to No. 8 and No. 13, respectively. Houston, which was on a bye this week, moved up one spot to No. 18. Arizona remained in the poll at No. 22 despite a loss to Texas Tech.

Oklahoma State and Cincinnati were the two teams in the receiving-votes category, with the Cowboys getting nine votes and the Bearcats one this week.

Elsewhere in college football, the top 10 saw a slight reshuffle behind No. 1 Miami. Georgia is the new No. 2, followed by Indiana, Utah, and UCLA to round out the top 5. Ohio State fell eight spots to No. 10 following its road loss to USC. The Trojans moved up eight spots after the win.

New Mexico is the lone new team in the poll, taking the No. 25 spot after Florida dropped out.
