Texas A&M currently sits at 4-3 and 1-3 in SEC play after defeating The Citadel 41-0 in Week 7, needing a blowout victory to gain back some momentum before facing No. 13 Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson Tide are coming off back-to-back losses to Georgia at home and Tennessee on the road, while sophomore QB Keelon Russell threw for less than 200 yards in both games.
The Aggies' offensive struggles are worse, starting with redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed's regression, which has fueled plenty of debate about sophomore signal caller Brady Hart's solid second-half performance on Saturday. Still, playing well against an undersized FCS team doesn't move the needle, as Reed is fully expected to make his eighth start of the season.
Texas A&M's defense will have its hands full against Alabama's offense, which has underperformed, but is still a threat to score 30 or more points per game thanks to Keelon Russell's arm talent and a young but formidable running back room. However, Texas A&M's porous pass rush will need to exploit Alabama's questionable offensive line, which ranked 129th in sacks allowed, with three per contest.
ABC will air Texas A&M vs. Alabama at 2:30 CT, while ESPN announced who will call Saturday's game in Tuscaloosa. Joe Tessitore and Jesse Palmer will be in the broadcast booth to call the game at Bryant-Denny Stadium, and Kris Budden will serve as the sideline reporter.
Hierarchy-wise, this is the No. 3 broadcast group behind Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit, and Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy.
