The Longhorns have added a commitment from 2028 four-star running back Micah Rhodes. Rhodes is the No. 11 RB in the 2028 class according to Rivals/On3. The Klein Oak High School blue chipper was previously committed to Oklahoma.

Rhodes announced his decision on his birthday, just a few days before the Red River Shootout in the Cotton Bowl at the State Fair of Texas. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound RB backed off his Oklahoma commitment a few months ago and Texas has been considered the leader for the back's pledge since.

Rhodes was one of the prospects Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian visited over the bye week, in addition to fellow running back Landen Williams-Callis. Rhodesis the Longhorns second commitment in the 2028 class, joining four-star quarterback Neimann Lawrence.

The Spring, Texas native has Longhorns ties. Rhodes' grandfather, Bobby Rhodes, played linebacker at Texas in the 1980s. His uncle, Shane Williams-Rhodes, played wide receiver at Boise State a decade ago and is No. 2 on the program's all-time receiving list.
