The Colorado football team continues to struggle in Big 12 conference games. Colorado got whipped by Oklahoma State on Saturday, 57-24. The loss continued a troubling trend for the program, and current head coach Deion Sanders.
“Karl Dorrell’s last 20 games as Colorado head coach: 5-15, 4 losses by 30-plus. Deion Sanders’ last 20 games as Colorado head coach: 5-15, 4 losses by 30-plus,” On3 reporter Brian Howell posted to X, formerly Twitter.
Colorado is now 2-5 on the season. The Buffaloes are dead last in the Big 12, with a 0-4 conference record. The pressure is building on Sanders, who many analysts feel is on the hot seat at Colorado.

This latest loss was the program’s fifth in a row. Colorado also has just one Big 12 conference win since the start of the 2025 campaign.
“First half was phenomenal. It was one of our best halves that we played this season, going blow for blow with a team that you know can score,” Sanders said postgame, per the school. “We knew defensively they would give us opportunities to do some phenomenal things, and we did. Like I said, Isaac was 14-for-16 at halftime. He was playing a phenomenal half, distributing the ball. He did a great job of making his reads. But coming out and fumbling in the second half, as a team, I don’t feel like we ever recovered.”
Colorado had a 24-20 lead at one point in the game. The Cowboys then went on to score 37 unanswered points. Oklahoma State posted a whopping 598 total yards of offense.
Sanders is in his fourth season at Colorado. He has posted two losing campaigns in his first three years. Unless Colorado starts winning very soon, this 2026 season will be another losing campaign.
