Colorado's Week 4 quarterback change is continuing into Week 5.

According to CBS Sports, Isaac Wilson will start the Buffaloes' game against No. 12 Texas Tech on Saturday. Wilson replaced Lewis during Colorado's loss to Baylor in Week 4.

Wilson was 12-of-25 passing for 156 yards and a TD in the 23-13 defeat after Lewis was 11 of 16 for 75 yards. The Buffaloes' biggest pass play of the game came on a 49-yard completion from wide receiver Joseph Williams. He was also the team's leading receiver with 11 catches for 127 yards and that TD pass from Wilson.

Wilson is the younger brother of former BYU and current New Orleans Saints quarterback Zach Wilson. He played the first two seasons of his career at Utah before transferring to Colorado in the offseason. As Utah dealt with injuries and inconsistent quarterback play in 2024, Wilson attempted 225 passes as a true freshman for 1,510 yards and 10 TDs with 11 interceptions.

Along with offensive lineman Jordan Seaton — who is now at LSU — Lewis is one of the most-touted recruits to sign with Colorado during Deion Sanders' tenure. He was 52-of-94 passing for 589 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman in 2025 as Colorado had three different players start at quarterback. Lewis appeared in four games last season as Colorado sat him for the final game of the season to preserve a potential redshirt.

So far this season, Lewis is 61-of-95 passing for 733 yards and six touchdowns with two interceptions. Colorado hired former Sacramento State coach Brennan Marion as the team's offensive coordinator in the offseason, but the 2-2 Buffaloes have struggled on offense.

The 21.5 points Colorado is averaging per game ranks 114th of 138 teams at the top level of college football. While the Buffs' rushing offense has improved, its quarterbacks are completing 62% of passes for 243 yards a game and the offense has turned the ball over nine times.
