Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes suffered another disappointing setback Saturday night as Texas Tech cruised to a 29-7 victory over them at Folsom Field. Shortly after the loss, the pressure surrounding Coach Prime intensified.
The loss dropped Colorado to 2-3 on the season and extended the Buffaloes’ losing streak to three consecutive games. It represented another difficult chapter for Sanders, whose team entered the season hoping to make meaningful progress after finishing 3-9 last year.
However, the latest loss quickly tested the patience of the fanbase, with several supporters openly demanding that the program make a coaching change.

“Time to fire coach Prime. You can do better,” a fan urged.
“I think it’s time to pull the plug on coach Prime. He can’t win big games,” a fan remarked.
“I’m out on Coach Prime. Had a cool run, the Heisman winner was fantastic. It got the program back to national relevance, but I’m sick of seeing the same simple mistakes week after week after week,” one comment read.
“I hate to say but Prime gotta go. It wasn’t just the kids this OFFENSE is Horribly coached and even worse. We had a confidently RECKLESS BACK UP we gave the keys to the kingdom to….. time for a complete overhaul tbh,” an user wrote.
“Yeah Prime has to go at this point. Either that or his seat should be considerably hot,” a fan chimed in.
The Buffaloes had already struggled to generate enough offense during their losses to Northwestern and Baylor. Colorado was blown out 41-7 by Northwestern before suffering a 23-13 loss against Baylor.
Hence, Sanders entered Saturday’s matchup with another major quarterback decision to make. After Julian Lewis started Colorado’s first four games, Sanders turned to Isaac Wilson against Texas Tech in an attempt to provide a spark to an offense that had struggled throughout the team’s previous two losses. However, the quarterback change failed to produce the turnaround Sanders and the Buffaloes were hoping for.
With the latest setback against Texas Tech adding another loss to the growing list, the pressure on Sanders has increased significantly as he attempts to reverse Colorado’s fortunes.
For Sanders and Colorado, the challenge now is finding a way to stop the downward slide before the season slips further away.
