Week 7 was billed as the biggest weekend of the 2026 college football season so far.

It delivered. And while Halloween is a few weeks away, Saturday was a bloodbath for the top 10. Half of the teams ranked inside the US LBM Coaches Poll top 10 will have lost by the end of Saturday.

  • No. 1 Georgia lost 27-24 to Auburn on a walk-off field goal.
  • No. 2 Notre Dame plays No. 8 BYU at 7:30 p.m. ET in Provo. They can't both win.
  • No. 4 Indiana lost to No. 5 Ohio State by a few inches.
  • No. 6 Texas was upset at home by Florida, which picked up its second top-10 win of the year.
  • No. 7 Alabama lost 26-10 to No. 14 Tennessee, which will put Bama's CFP hopes in peril.

HAYES: Ohio State-Indiana should have meant everything. The CFP made it almost meaningless

These results matter this year. Next year? Maybe not so much as a 24-team playoff gives teams some extra rope. But we can enjoy the madness while we can.

Saturday marked the first day in the 90-year history of the AP Poll five teams in the top 8 lost, per ESPN Insights.

Also per ESPN, this was the first time Georgia, Alabama and Texas all lost on the same day since Oct. 26, 1996.

No. 9 Texas Tech and No. 10 Ole Miss avoided slip-ups with convincing wins over Arizona State and Missouri, respectively.

No. 3 Miami will look to do the same with its nighttime kickoff against rival Florida State.

Sunday's poll release will have much more intrigue, including who will take the No. 1 spot?
