A $2,000 bar tab can go a long way.
Arizona coach Brent Brennan made waves after his team's 39-3 homecoming game win over Iowa State on Oct. 24 for stopping by a local bar to buy around 300 shots of tequila for Arizona fans and alumni in town for the game, a gesture that has helped endear the coach to the community.
"For me, I've said it since I got here; it's been a thing for me the whole time I've been a head coach," Brennan said Monday, Oct. 26, when talking about the gesture at Dirtbag's with the media.
"I think it's important that if you want people to show up for you, you've got to show up for them and it was just an easy way for me to pop in there with all of our alumni in town and everybody for Homecoming and the excitement of the game to just go in there and say hello and get out.
"I was there for five minutes and it was an expensive five minutes, but it was good five minutes. Just trying to invest in our fans and just let them know how much we appreciate them as a football team."

Your move, Kenny Dillingham?
The announced attendance for the game was 45,477, Arizona's highest home attendance of the season. The Wildcats improved to 6-1 overall with the victory and 3-1 in Big 12 play.
They are 4-0 at home. It was Arizona's fifth straight win.
Maybe Arizona State football head coach Kenny Dillingham can consider a similar welcome when the Sun Devils host Oklahoma State for their homecoming game on Nov. 21.
We're sure some fans would approve of the gesture, especially if it were to come after a big win over the Cowboys.
